We spend three days in Meridian, MS. We arrived Tuesday night. It takes the mechanic (George) all of Wednesday to get around to looking at our car and to give us a call. It takes them Thursday morning to finally fix the car.

What is there to do in Meridian? Not much. Especially not without a car. As you can see we spent a considerable amount of time waiting for people to call us at the motel.

Or checking email...

Or talking. Or hunting for food in the nearby high-quality restaurants (McDonald's, Applebee's, Cracker Barrell, Waffle House...) Or, as you can see - trying to work out how to play checkers. In the end we make up our own rules and play for a while, when suddenly a lady informs us about the proper rules and engages us in conversation - so we forget about checkers and enjoy the company instead.
