Texas Adventures: Friday, July 18, to Monday, July 21, 2003

Dann is determined to make this the perfect Texas experience for me. He is the greatest host one can wish for.

We talk a lot, of course. About this and that, Swiss chocolate, Basler Läckerli, noders, C2, Swiss army knives, travelling, Latin competition, music, synaesthesia, weddings, flying dragons, you name it.

Then, we drive around a lot. I am introduced to typically southern concepts such as "Waffles Houses", shotguns, wire-cutters, Texan flags, cars,...

We buy a pair of skates for Dann (but not protective gear - oh dear...)

We cook - spaghetti with a vegetable sauce, enough to feed a whole private army (sorry - my fault - I have no hand for measurements).

We go driving on parking lots at night after dark!!! (Guess what - I love it. I am so going to get my driver's license and if only to be able to drive in the states.)

We "solve" the Rubik's Cube:

bare rubik's cube

Ok - I admit it - Dann knows how to solve these things - and he's darn fast at it too - 90 seconds. But I am stooopid - so instead I ask "but how do they work?" And thus - with the help of a Swiss Cyber tool and Dann's strong arms we solve one of mankind's last puzzles (ok - maybe not mankind's last puzzle, but, well... it *was* fascinating.)

Eventually we had to put it back together again...

After all that excitement we needed some cooling down. Dann was so kind to lend me a towel for the occasion...
